Weekend Must See: Cockneys vs. Zombies

This British movie is about a group of inept criminals who decide to rob a bank so they can save their grandfather's retirement home from being demolished by developers. Meanwhile on another building site some workers dig up an old graveyard and they get bitten by the "undead" which sets off a chain reaction. -IMDB

Wise craps and gun-toting seniors fighting off zombies in East London.  Pretty good stuff!  Cockneys vs. Zombies was pure fun.  I love a good zombie/horror/comedy!  Pairs well with taco dinner and a big beer.  Happy Saturday!!

AUTOSTADT scenes in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol

MI IV: Autostadt Replica

CarTower Discovery

Autostadt

Autostadt

I literally cannot get over the fact that I sat through the entire Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol movie (slight bonus for Simon Pegg being in the film).  What really got me through was the fact that there was an action sequence in a replica of the Volkswagen Autostadt in Wolfsburg, Germany.  A team built a replica-like structure in Vancouver taking six months to construct a fully operable tower.  The structure included a 35,000-pound, 78-foot tall center column that supported two 23-foot parking paddles, each of which weighed over three tons. The actual VW version is much larger.  Take a look at their website.  This thing is so crazy!

Style Watch: Cousin Eddie from Nat'l Lampoons Christmas Vacation

Eddie Being the Man
"Shitter was full..."

Clark Agrees Eddie's Style is Boss

It's kind of a tradition, right?  Watching Christmas Vacation is a crowd pleaser, especially when you invite the uptight in-laws over to enjoy some quality time.  Pass the eggnog and enjoy watching Cousin Eddie being himself, Clark obessing over his decorations and burning a hole in the bottom of his saucer sled Oh, and the antics at the shopping mall.  Happy Holiday-Movie-watching season!

EAMES

The film tells the story of Charles and Bernice Alexandra "Ray" Eames — spouses, complementary creative partners, seminal designers, architects, filmmakers and much more — and in many ways traces the rapid rise of post-World War II modernity up to and including the computer age. (source)

The husband-and-wife team of Charles and Ray Eames are widely regarded as America’s most important designers. Perhaps best remembered for their mid-century plywood and fiberglass furniture, the Eames Office also created a mind-bending variety of other products, including splints for wounded military during World War II, photography, interiors, multi-media exhibits, graphics, games, films and toys. But their personal lives and influence on significant events in American life—from the development of modernism to the rise of the computer age—has been less widely understood. (source)

The Ghosts, short

______________________________________________________
The Ghosts

Thanks to 10engines for posting this!
Watch it there or here: The Teenage Head

Behind the Scenes video:  Here
Surf Ballroom Sessions/Music:  Here!

Great short, sort of reminiscent of Footloose.  Sorry!  I know that's a terrible comparison, but I didn't want to sound redundant and repeat all that 10engines said.  Go over there and read his description, it's much better.
