Herbert Matter
To me, Matter's work has always been highlighted by the Swiss travel posters. The overlapping of typography, faces, scenes and colors always forced me to take notice, delightfully so. Reading the newest copy of Dwell this past week, there was a great write up about Matter and his work. Collaborating with artists like Jackson Pollock and Cassandre, Matter managed to capture the image and then make it his own.
The overlapping lines, symmetry, bold colors. I love it, I hope you do too.
