Beer Review (20): Deschutes Brewery Class Of '88 Imperial Smoked Porter

Deschutes Brewery Class Of '88 Imperial Smoked Porter
Brewery: Deschutes Brewery  & Great Lakes Brewing Co.Beer: American Porter | Beer Advocate Score: 85 Abv: 9.1%

'Black Butte' from Deschutes and 'Edmund Fitzgerald' from Great Lakes are my two favorite porters on the entire planet, probably.  The breweries came together and created a phenomenal brew dubbed Class Of '88 Imperial Smoked Porter, and because we know great things come from '88 (hint: me), it's not a surprise that this big-bottled beer is phenomenal.  Not overly smoky, but rich with chocolate aromas, caramel tones, and maltiness.  Since it's a limited run, I suggest grabbing a few to share with your friends and family during the holidays  ---one for left hand, other for right.
