A Year of Practiculture by Rohan Anderson

I'm a huge fan of what Rohan does and how he does it. He makes/harvests/hunts/eats/photographs good food. It's remarkable what a man and his family can achieve if you cut out all the excess and focus on the goodness. I've been inspired by his writing for years now. Inspired to cook good food from his first book(Whole Larder Love), and excited to get my hands on the second book, A Year of Practiculture. Which for US residents may require some patience. Pre-sale orders are only open to the folks "down under" for now. Rohan Anderson's Website About Rohan

Walking Around Old City, Philadelphia

Old City, Philadelphia PA

Old City, Philadelphia PA

Here are some unusual but interesting shots I snapped in Old City, Philadelphia PA.  All of them sort of show a contrast in colors or old vs. modern, something I always find really interesting in every city.  It's absolutely beautiful outside, but if you're stuck indoors like I am, here are some cool things recently:

-Chambray, Jeans For Your Head and Feet - GQ
-First Shirt Amazonas - Our Legacy
-Clogs or Sandals - Birkenstock
-'Through the Mill', Biking Video - Chris Akrigg
-These Really Bright Shoes - Street Etiquette
-Great Gatsby Movie Set Design - Architectural Digest
-All Black Eames Furniture - Cool Hunting
-This Instagram - Cold Splinters

You can always skip the chat and head straight over to my Flickr for pictures...

Your Package Has Arrived

What a surprise I received after work today, the Whole Larder Love book has arrived!  It looks fantastic, the photography is stunning and the recipes, well,  I have so many I want to try already.  It's more than a cookbook, it's almost like a food philosophy we can all try to incorporate into our lives a little bit.  Maybe you can't go hunting or fishing or forage for mushrooms, but there are little things you can do each day to relieve the environmental impact,  even if it's just eating what's in season.  I for one am super excited to give the pumpkin gnocchi a go, maybe this weekend?!  I hear comfort food mixes well with a Game of Thrones addiction.

That's Just Amazing

The work of Tim Robison always strikes me.  It's so simple and pleasing to the eyes.  I mean, can you make a pork taco look this damn good?  Featured on Nectar (another blog you need to totally set some time aside for) and supplementing the pictures with tutorials and recipes, you'll be swoon by this guy's work.

Tim, I wish you updated you blog more (and just maybe I am calling you out on that one), but we'll keep you around.  It's nice to pop over there and see a new post, keep up the good work.
