Joy - Almond Surfboards

Joy, one of Almond Surfboards most popular sticks, is on the top five of my major wish list.  It didn't happen this summer, but I wont let another one pass by without having the rush of water pass below my feet.  Gosh, so many things to do!  But check out this masterpiece and some of the other boards they have.  B E A U T S

Eddie From The Water Coverage

Whew, and I bet you thought this blog died?!

Check out these photos over at Surfer Magazine from Eddie on the Water, an event in memory of Eddie Aikau, one of the best big wave surfers in history.  Certainly awe-inspiring and send a bit of a chill down my spine.  Because, holy crap, that's a big wave barreling down and whisking people away at break-neck speeds.  Respect.

The Sidecar Bicycle by Horse

Sidecar Bicycle with Board Rack

Sidecar Bicycle with Board Rack

Horse has done it! They've brought use the classically designed Sidecar Bicycle that has me drooling. The Sidecar Bicycle is made out of chromoly alloy steel and is a tank. You can opt for the surf rack, a flat bed, or I'm sure for $4,500 you can get a little specific about what you want. The bike comes standard with a Brooks Saddle and pair of grips. This is one of those family heirloom type goods, so makes the price tag worth it, right? But how much fun would this be??! Check out the sidecar bicycle in action, here. Personally, I would take the wood piece out from the double top tube, create the sidecar out of some durable plastic to save on weight and get a 3-speed hub on that monster. The bars are already superb. My birthday is tomorrow, let me know if you need my shipping info! But you could always opt to build your own, here.

Praise the Land Rover and Some Surfing in Scotland

Passing Place to The North Shore of Britain: A Tribute to One of the Last Defenders is a great little video paying homage to a timeless vehicle built for adventure.  Passing through beautiful countryside and breathtaking coastlines in pursuit of the next wave.  Worth a watch.  Dreaming about the weekend...

The Right - A Short Film of Wave Slab Fury from Oz

Absolutely insane stuff here.  Makes me nervous just watching!  The Right is a take-no-prisoners wall of water that somehow skilled riders are able to slide through.  Whoa.

Mornings are still crisp here in Philadelphia.  Despite the weather, trees are now in full bloom and my allergies are acting up!  It's Spring for sure.  New adventures await and more places to explore on the horizon.  Though it may be too early for me to graduate from the foam surfboard, I still have my eyes on the Pinwheel.  Hard to justify, especially living in a landlocked state, but the "shore" as we say, is not too far away.  Anyway, here are a couple of things that would be perfect for a weekend getaway to the beach (of course with your dog in tow).  Make a campfire.  Have a beer (or two).  I command you.
