This dark-amber pumpkin ale spelled fragrant and spicy immediately after cracking it open. The smell was wondrous and lovely, but the taste...not that memorable. The spice to pumpkin ratio seemed lacking and the body felt weak and boring. Not one of my favorite pumpkin beers this season, but not one to skip altogether. The complexity of the spice notes got me through the brew, but in the event I had the option to go for round two, I most likely would've picked something else.

ReplyDeleteI've not tried any pumpkin beers either, come to think of it I've never seen any over here. Even though the review isn't some favorable I'm going to look for some this weekend.

Wow, I'm surprised to hear that from both of you. During the Fall season there's usually 2-3 pumpkin beers on tap at a time at the bar. Pumpkin beer is everywhere! Let me know what you find!
ReplyDeleteYou guys just do seasonal things better over there, we don't really put effort in. It's just like at Christmas, it's much grander in America. Still not found any.
ReplyDeleteCycling mittens? Not heard of them.
